You should name it “The kiravan suuuuuucks!"

Haha we mainly like to make fun of the people in regular RV’s or those sprinter vans. The Kiravan is cut from the same cloth as ours.

what is the range (ballpark) of one of them fully fueled with a load??
![]() 04/22/2016 at 22:39 |
|
About a 1000 mile range. 90 gallons of diesel on board.

that is downright impressive..... what is the crawl ratio (approx) on one of them once you get them in the low gears?? and do you guys do anything special to help with rollover stability over uneven terrain?
![]() 04/22/2016 at 22:53 |
|
Crap I don’t actually know the crawl ratio. I’m guessing it’s the same as the factory ratio. We don’t adjust anything in the drivetrain except our wheels/tires.
As for rollover issues we are quite stable. The fuel and water (90 gals each) are all at/below the frame. The body itself is a balsa wood/fiberglass composite so it’s pretty light. The wood cabinetry is the heaviest thing in the vehicle. We also have an air-ride setup to help with the ride.

I gotta know. Do you guys get deals on take off parts?
And.. Does that F-750 have staggered tire sizes?

all that low slung weight would help to make them downright stable.. that is one impressive piece of equipment you folks are producing.

What do you mean by ‘take off parts’? We can order things through the company as an employee at the manufacturer cost if that’s what you mean.

Yeah it’s quite stable. The longer I work here the more I realize how badass they truly are. The attention to detail and the cool tech we have is quite amazing.

what is in particular striking to me, is where a normal RV might get used two or three times a year, and see maybe 20000 LIFEtime miles. the Earthroamers are set up for CONTINUOUS use, in some of the most inhospitable places.
learn everything you can while you are there. it will help with whatever other stuff you build

Take off parts would be anything you take off the Ford chassis, that doesn’t end up in the finished vehicle. Like the original tires and wheels.
![]() 04/22/2016 at 23:33 |

No, I mean things like the Ford parts on a new chassis. The parts that get taken off a fresh chassis for the new build.
Like the Alcoa wheels on the first truck in your pics.

Man I wish I had money.

Jeez, them are big trucks.
How long does a customer build take?
![]() 04/23/2016 at 09:39 |

Oh yeah. All the wheels, suspension bits from the front and rears, bumper, and fender flares. Also the rear window all get removed. Everything gets thrown out except the wheels. We have people we sell the wheels to. Haven’t had much luck selling the rest so we scrap it.

Sorry forgot to reply about the tires. Non staggered 445/65R22.5's all the way around. Absolutely massive and rated to 12,000 pounds each.
